Learn to Play Ukulele: 11am-1pm
Stanwick Lakes Discovery Zone

Taking place in the picturesque Stanwick Lakes visitor centre, this is your chance to learn to play ukulele. This 2 hour course is open to all, including children aged  11-16 , but they must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the session.

You’ll learn the most commonly used chords then put them to work is some catchy and fun songs. In no time at all, you’ll be playing this exciting instrument. Will start right from the beginning learning how to hold the instrument, how to play the most common basic chords and then how to strum to get a louder sound.

The course costs £20 for the two hour sessions, children accompanied by a full paying adult are £15. Booking is essential and can be done by using the Ticket Source link below. You can also hire a ukulele if you don’t have one for an additional £10.

Open Mic Group or Solo Performance: 12 Noon – 2pm
Outside the Visitor Centre

If you would like to perform a solo, a small group or your entire ukulele group now is your chance! There are a number of bookable slots available and depending upon demand we will confirm how long these will be, it is anticipated it will be about 10-15 minutes each (including set up).

Mass Strum: 2.15pm- 4pm
Outside the Visitor Centre

Join us for a mass strum at the picturesque Stanwick Lakes in the afternoon. There will be a song book with all the music available from about the end of April which can be pre-ordered or you can simply pick one up on the day. To help cover costs of the event it will be £1.50 to join us for the strum and books will be available for £1 each (plus postage if you want it sending to you early.
