Stanwick Lakes Ukulele Festival

We return to Stanwick lakes in June for our third fun filled ukulele festival. The day begins with the opportunity to learn to play ukulele in just two hours! The day then continues with an afternoon of mass strumming led by Raunds Ukulele Orchestra.

The event is open to everyone and more details about the event our below (this will be updated over the coming weeks). Booking is now open for the learn to play session in the morning and details about how to pre-book tickets and song books for the mass strumming afternoon will be available soon.

Saturday 23 June, 11am-1pm

Taking place in the picturesque Stanwick Lakes visitor centre, this is your chance to learn to play ukulele. This 2 hour course is open to all, including children aged  11-16 , but they must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the session.

You’ll learn the most commonly used chords then put them to work is some catchy and fun songs. In no time at all, you’ll be playing this exciting instrument. Will start right from the beginning learning how to hold the instrument, how to play the most common basic chords and then how to strum to get a louder sound.

The course costs £20 for the two hour sessions, children accompanied by a full paying adult are £15. You will need a ukulele for the session, one can be hired for an additional £10, but this must be booked at the same time as the tickets. Booking is essential and can be done via Ticket Source

Mass Strumming Afternoon

Saturday 23 June, 2-4pm

A fun filled afternoon playing and singing popular ukulele songs led by Raunds Ukulele Orchestra. Tickets cost £1.50 to help cover costs of the day, songbooks can also be pre-ordered and bought. More details to follow soon.
